FTMAP

This utility is designed to create game maps for use by PBEM or other online gaming platforms. Its very flexible and can create a game board at any scale using simple sprites. It can also be use for After Action Reports on websites and blogs.

FTMAP is a freeware mapping program conceived and written in 1998 but updated in 2026. Its still works today althought the technology was a bit dated as it used GIF rather than PNG format. PNG is now fully supported. Ftmap is maintained here so contact us with any feedback and/or suggestions you have concerning FTMAP.

- The latest release of ftmap can be found on the downloads page ( Note Drive keeps removing it, as it thinks its malicious so it's now in encrypted zip file the password is ftmap ).
- How to use ftmap is documented in the manual. This explains how to fomat a data file to produce a map for a game turn
- There are several sets of sprites available for creating game maps. These include Babylon5, Star Trek and Star Wars as well as the FULL THRUST background.
